End User License Agreement
End User License Agreement
Version 2.0 · September 2026
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you — the individual or entity that owns the license (“Licensee”, “you”) — and 2Shapes Technologies SLU (“2Shapes”, “we”) for the RhinoArtisan software, including its documentation and accompanying materials (the “Software”).
By installing or using the Software you agree to be bound by this EULA. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software. Failure to comply with this EULA invalidates your license.
RhinoArtisan is protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties. The Software is licensed, not sold. This EULA applies to RhinoArtisan version 7.0 and later; earlier versions remain governed by the agreement under which they were acquired.
1. Definitions
- “Seat” — one license unit, activated on one computer or virtual machine, for use by one user at a time.
- “Interactive Use” — use of the Software by a person operating it directly on their licensed Seat, including scripts, flows and AI assistants that the person launches and supervises.
- “Unattended Use” — execution of the Software’s functionality without a person operating the Seat: scheduled or queued jobs, server-side execution, or any automated pipeline running without direct human supervision.
- “Automation Interfaces” — the RhinoArtisan Python Scripting API, the RhinoArtisan MCP server, and any other programmatic interface to the Software.
- “Connected Services” — features that depend on servers operated by 2Shapes or on third-party services and AI models (Section 6).
- “Beta Features” — features designated as beta, published under “RhinoArtisan Labs” (Section 7).
- “Internal Business Purposes” — use by the Licensee’s own personnel, for the Licensee’s own designs, products and processes.
2. License Grant
Subject to this EULA, 2Shapes grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software, per Seat purchased, for Internal Business Purposes and Interactive Use, on a computer or virtual machine that you own, lease or rent. You may make archival copies of the Software. Some functionality requires a free RhinoArtisan account.
3. Automation Interfaces
- The Automation Interfaces are included with your Seat for Internal Business Purposes.
- Every running instance of the Software — including instances driven through an Automation Interface — must be bound to an activated, licensed Seat.
- Interactive Use of the Automation Interfaces is covered by your Seat: scripts, flows and AI assistants that you launch and supervise on your licensed machine.
- Unattended Use requires a separate Automation License, available under a separate agreement with 2Shapes.
- At the release of version 7.0, the Automation Interfaces are Beta Features (Section 7). Once an interface is designated stable, changes to it follow the published versioning and deprecation policy: a deprecated interface keeps working for a notice period of at least six (6) months.
4. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- make the Software’s functionality available to any third party — including as or through a web service, SaaS offering, service bureau, time-sharing arrangement, hosted API, or a customer-facing configurator or similar automated system that third parties interact with — except under a separate written OEM agreement with 2Shapes;
- sublicense, rent, lease, lend, redistribute or resell the Software or any portion of it;
- use the Software as a server-side engine beyond the scope permitted by Section 3;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
- circumvent or disable license enforcement, activation or usage measurement.
For clarity: selling jewelry, designs, models, renders or documents that you create with the Software is normal use and is not restricted. The line drawn by this Section is who operates the Software: your people may; systems serving third parties may not, without an OEM agreement.
5. Ownership and Your Content
You retain ownership of and responsibility for your designs, models, files and any output you create with the Software (“Content”). The Software, including its original content, features and functionality, remains the exclusive property of 2Shapes Technologies SLU and its licensors.
6. Connected Services
Some features of the Software depend on servers operated by 2Shapes and/or on third-party services and AI models — for example generative image, video and 3D models, AI assistants, and live pricing data. These are “Connected Services”.
Connected Services are provided as services, on an as-available basis, for so long as 2Shapes offers them; they are not part of the perpetual license. 2Shapes may modify, substitute (including switching the underlying AI models or providers), suspend or discontinue a Connected Service. Where reasonably possible, 2Shapes will announce material changes in advance. Connected Services may require a RhinoArtisan account and are subject to fair-use limits.
7. Beta Features (RhinoArtisan Labs)
Features labeled Beta are experimental or still stabilizing. They are provided “as is”: they may change materially or be removed at any time, they are excluded from support commitments and warranties, and they may depend on Connected Services. The current list of Beta Features is published at rhinoartisan.com/docs/labs/.
Beta Features remain subject to all terms of this EULA, including Sections 3 and 4 — beta status does not authorize any use that this EULA otherwise restricts. When a feature leaves beta, it becomes part of the stable Software and is governed by Section 8.
8. Feature Continuity
Within a purchased major version, 2Shapes will not remove stable, locally-executing features through updates. Features may be changed or retired between major versions. Connected Services and Beta Features are governed by Sections 6 and 7, not by this Section.
9. AI Output
Generative and AI-assisted features produce probabilistic results. 2Shapes does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, quality or fitness for purpose of AI-generated output — including geometry, meshes, scripts, prices, weights, manufacturability assessments and text.
AI assistants connected through the RhinoArtisan MCP server are the Licensee’s own tools, licensed from their respective providers and subject to those providers’ terms. 2Shapes provides the tools those assistants call; it is not responsible for the assistants’ behavior or decisions.
You are responsible for professional review of any output before relying on it — in particular before manufacturing, quoting or invoicing.
10. Support
Support is provided according to the published support policy: standard support covers the current version and, for three (3) months after a release, the previous version. Assistance with your own integrations, scripts and builds is offered separately (Support Plus). Support for Beta Features is provided on a best-effort basis.
11. Telemetry and Privacy
The Software may send anonymous usage information; you can opt out as described in the product documentation. Personal data is handled according to the privacy policy.
12. Warranty Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Software and accompanying materials are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 2Shapes shall not be liable for any special, incidental, collateral or consequential damages arising out of the use of, or inability to use, the Software. 2Shapes’ total aggregate liability under this EULA shall not exceed the amounts paid by the Licensee for the affected license.
14. Termination
This EULA is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you fail to comply with its terms; upon termination you must cease all use of the Software. Sections that by their nature should survive termination survive.
15. Governing Law
This EULA is governed by the laws of Spain, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Spain. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
