About What Assistant Is
No. Assistant does not design jewelry on its own. Its role is to help you work faster with existing designs inside RhinoArtisan by automating technical tasks and providing useful information throughout the process.
Not yet. Assistant does not generate new geometry or replace modeling. It always works with jewelry already created in RhinoArtisan or available in your libraries.
It can assist in adapting and preparing existing designs when they are properly structured in RhinoArtisan. It does not replace modeling tools – it guides and automates processes based on real models.
Absolutely not. Assistant is built to amplify the designer’s work, not to replace creativity or technical expertise.

Yes. Assistant requires installing a local AI engine and downloading at least one language model to operate. Both are open-source and completely free of charge.
No. All designs remain on your computer. Assistant does not upload files, geometry or any information to external servers.
Yes. You can install different compatible models depending on your needs and your hardware capacity.
RhinoArtisan recommends models optimized for a strong balance between quality and performance, such as Qwen 2.5 7B. You may also use alternative compatible models like Llama 3.1 or Mistral depending on your preferences and hardware capabilities.
No. You can use other compatible models, although the recommended one provides the best balance for Assistant.
Yes. Models can be installed, removed or replaced at any time from the model manager.
Advanced models can occupy several gigabytes (around 5GB for 7B models) since they are stored locally on your machine.
Technical Requirements
For good performance with advanced AI models, a dedicated GPU with sufficient VRAM is recommended. Integrated graphics may work with smaller models but will be slower.
This depends on your hardware. Assistant requires enough RAM and, for large AI models, a dedicated GPU. Response speed is directly affected by CPU power, available RAM and GPU memory. Entry-level laptops may experience reduced performance.
Assistant uses system resources only when processing requests. When idle, its impact on Rhino’s performance is minimal.
On systems below the recommended specifications, running large AI models may temporarily slow down performance while Assistant generates responses.
Assistant will still run using smaller models, but speed and capabilities may be limited.
Yes. Lightweight models require fewer resources and are suitable for lower-end hardware, but results may be less accurate or incomplete. For more reliable and consistent outputs, RhinoArtisan recommends using the suggested models.
