The BooleanDifference command trims the shared areas of selected polysurfaces or surfaces with another set of polysurfaces or surfaces.
To differentiate multiple objects
1. Select surfaces or polysurfaces to subtract from, and press Enter.
2. Select surfaces or polysurfaces to subtract with, and press Enter.
Exercise: Making cutters under diamonds
1. Open the Boolean difference.3dm file saved inside Stone settings topic in cutters lesson or download the file on this lesson .
2. Select the shank, and run the Explode command.
3. Run the BooleanDifference command.
4. Select the shank and press Enter.
5. Select the cutter objects.
Notes: Make sure that the DeleteInput parameter is enabled.
6. Press Enter.
Exercise: Finish the flag pendant
1. Open the Boolean difference Flag.3dm file created during Boolean Union Lesson.
2. Run the BooleanDifference command.
3. Select the Red pipes and press Enter.
4. Select the White pipes.
Notes: Make sure that the DeleteInput parameter is disabled.
5. Press Enter.
6. Run the BooleanDifference command.
7. Select the red and white pipes, and press Enter.
8. Select the frame object.
Notes: Make sure that the DeleteInput parameter is disabled.
9. Press Enter.
10. Select the diamonds and run the Cutters command.
11. Type the following parameters:
Height Girdle to 5
Size Drill to 60
Height Pavillion to 70
Size Bottom to 35
Height Drill to 230
12. Run the BooleanDifference command.
13. Select the frame object.
14. Select the cutter objects.
Notes: Make sure that the DeleteInput parameter is enabled.
15. Press Enter.
16. Run the bail command.
17. Type 7 in Width, and 1.5 in Height.
18. Type 3 in Top Diameter, 1 in Bottom Diameter, and 5 in Internal Distance.
19. Activate the O-ring, and type 1.5 in Thickness, 3 in Diameter, and 2 in Overlapping Distance. Click on the Confirm changes button.
20. Using the Gumball, move the bail until the O-ring barely overlaps the center of the red stripe.
21. Run the FilletEdge command.
22. Type 0.2, press Enter, and select the outer edges of the blue rectangle.
